Biography

Jane LowBeer is a mixed media artist living in downtown Toronto. Monotypes have been her medium of choice during the last decade. Jane LowBeer started her artistic career as a printmaker studying with Stanley Hayter at his famous Atelier 17 in Paris. During her career she has exhibited in New York, Montreal and various places in Europe. Her works have garnered her prizes and are included in private and public collections including The Victoria and Albert Museum in London and Biblioteque National in Paris.

In Toronto she recently had a show at the Loop gallery and is represented by Open Studio and The Nikolai Rukaj Gallery. For almost twenty years she designed and constructed sets and a huge variety of puppets as artistic director of the multi-media theatre company, The Crankee Consort. Her art work is also influenced by her involvement with yoga, both as an instructor and as a Phoenix Rising Yoga therapist
